China’s Green Tech Exports Surge

China’s first-half exports of electric vehicles (EVs), lithium batteries and solar cells surged 51.6% from a year earlier to $118.4 billion, driving broader trade growth alongside a booming artificial intelligence (AI) supply chain.
EVs led the growth among the “new three” green technologies, with first-half export value surging 75.1% to $52.1 billion and June shipments topping 1 million units for the first time. Lithium battery exports rose 42.7% to $48.7 billion, while solar cells returned to positive growth in June, pushing their first-half total up 24% to $16.5 billion.
