China recently released the 15th Five-Year Plan for Expanding Consumption. As the first national-level, five-year directive specifically targeting the consumer sector, the document outlines 28 key tasks to boost domestic demand and stimulate spending during the 2026-2030 period.

In its approval, the State Council emphasized making domestic demand the strategic cornerstone. The mandate calls for profound campaigns to expand the service sector, upgrade goods consumption, diversify business models, empower consumer spending capacity, and optimize the overall regulatory environment.
