Shanghai-based humanoid robot developer AgiBot has begun the process for an initial public offering in Hong Kong, the company confirmed to Caixin on July 24.
The move makes AgiBot the first among a wave of 30 to 50 Chinese embodied-AI startups to formally disclose listing plans, underscoring intensifying competition for capital and market share in the nascent sector. Formerly known as AgiBot Robotics, the company has also rebranded as AgiBot Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co. Ltd.
