China Landslide Death Toll Rises to 11, With 50 Still Missing

The death toll from a mountain collapse in southwestern China rose to 11, with 50 people still missing, as rescue teams shifted to recovering bodies after finding no further signs of life, authorities said late Thursday.

Ten people were injured in the disaster in Pengshui County, part of the municipality of Chongqing, according to the on-site rescue command headquarters. The update came six days after the collapse.
