China’s Ministry of Commerce has condemned proposed U.S. investigations and sanctions targeting Chinese AI companies, calling the moves a typical example of “AI hegemony” and saying they lack a factual and legal basis.
The ministry said the U.S. is applying double standards and warned that China will take measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises if the actions cause substantive harm.
