Hunan Anti-Graft Probe Reaches Second University of South China President

The sitting president of the University of South China has been placed under investigation for suspected corruption, the latest high-profile academic to be swept up in a provincial anti-graft campaign.

Xia Kun, 55, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, the Hunan Provincial Discipline Inspection and Supervisory Commission said Tuesday. The announcement cuts short a brief tenure for the academic, who formally took the helm of the university in December 2025.
