Nature Retracts Two Papers by Chinese Scientists Following Blogger’s Fraud Crusade

An academic fraud-busting campaign launched by a prominent Chinese science blogger has yielded severe repercussions, resulting in the retraction of two research papers by scholars in top-tier Nature journals on July 30. 

The retractions followed an earlier correction issued by Nature Cell Biology for another paper flagged by the same blogger. Out of the studies publicly questioned by the online sleuth — who posts under the handle “Geng Tongxue Jiang Gushi” — two have now been retracted and one corrected.
