Former Jilin Financial Regulator Taken Away by Authorities

Wang Lisheng, the former head of Jilin province’s financial regulator and a key figure in local banking reform, was taken away by authorities, Caixin has learned from multiple sources.

Wang disappeared in early this month, shortly after his profile was removed from the official website of the Jilin Provincial Local Financial Regulatory Administration in July. He had joined the agency eight months earlier, following a brief stint as the inaugural chairman of Jilin Rural Commercial Bank.
