China is expected to narrow its advanced-chip supply gap sharply over the next decade as AI demand drives faster investment in domestic semiconductor capacity, according to Goldman Sachs.

The U.S. investment bank expects China’s domestic supply of advanced wafer to rise much faster than demand. Domestic supply of 7-nanometer-and-below wafers is expected to grow at a 46% compound annual rate through 2035, narrowing the supply shortfall to 34% from 92% in 2025.
