Blast at Russia-China Chemical Project Kills Seven, Leaves Nine Chinese Missing

A fire and explosion at a Russian-Chinese chemical complex in Russia’s Far East on Tuesday killed at least seven people and left nine Chinese citizens missing, according to company officials and local authorities.

The incident occurred at the Amur Gas Chemical Complex, a large petrochemical facility under construction in the Amur region. The company said through its official press service that the dead included six Chinese nationals and one Russian citizen. The missing and deceased Chinese workers were employed by an engineering contractor at the site.
