Tencent Unveils Larger AI Model in Bid to Close Gap With Rivals

Tencent Holdings Ltd. launched and open-sourced a new large language model tailored for productivity tasks on Friday, accelerating its release cycle amid a fierce domestic AI race.

The new model features 770 billion total parameters, 49 billion active parameters and a context length exceeding one million tokens. The release came less than two months after Tencent introduced Hy3 on July 6, marking a faster pace of major upgrades for a company that has been seen as trailing some Chinese AI developers.
