Former Hubei Party Chief Sentenced to Life in Prison for $111 Million Graft

A Chinese court has sentenced Jiang Chaoliang, the former Communist Party chief of Hubei province and veteran state banking executive, to death with a two-year reprieve for taking more than 746 million yuan ($111 million) in bribes.

The Nanjing Intermediate People’s Court ruled that the 69-year-old will serve life in prison without the possibility of parole or sentence reduction after the reprieve expires.
