A former senior political adviser and celebrated traditional musician was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday for corruption, becoming the latest high-ranking casualty in China’s sweeping anti-graft campaign.
The Urumqi Intermediate People’s Court in Xinjiang convicted Liu Kuanren of bribery and embezzlement in a case involving more than 48.85 million yuan ($7.27 million).
