China’s power market overhaul is moving beyond generators to electricity retailers and end users, opening new opportunities in energy storage, virtual power plants and power trading, according to the chairman of Chinese distributed renewable energy developer PCG Power Technology Co. Ltd.
“If renewable-energy capacity doubles over the next decade as targeted, the mismatch between renewable-power supply and electricity demand could become even more pronounced,” said Li Wenxuan in an interview with Caixin.
