A former senior provincial lawmaker in China’s coal-rich Shanxi province has been expelled from the Communist Party and referred for criminal prosecution on bribery charges, the country’s top anti-graft watchdog said Wednesday.
The expulsion of Yue Puyu, a former vice chairman of the Shanxi Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee, comes five months after he was first placed under investigation.
