Xi Outlines Four-Point Middle East Security Architecture in Talks With Egyptian President

Chinese President Xi Jinping called for a new Middle East security framework shaped by countries in the region, saying outside powers should abandon double standards and respect regional sovereignty, during talks Tuesday with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, according to the state-run Xinhua news agency.

At a meeting at Cairo’s Al-Ittihadiya Palace, Xi said China supports Middle Eastern nations in building good-neighborly relations. To promote common security in the region, Xi said that a comprehensive approach should be adopted.
