China plans to optimize its stock market rules to make local exchanges the preferred listing destination for high-quality domestic companies, according to a top securities regulator.

The pledge is part of Beijing’s broader campaign to revitalize the domestic capital market by attracting innovative comapnies while simultaneously cracking down on financial crime to restore battered investor confidence.
