Southeast Asia’s Imports of Chinese Clean-Energy Products Reach Record $20 Billion

Southeast Asian countries bought a record $20 billion of Chinese clean-energy products so far this year, up 50% from a year earlier, as rising power demand in the region coincided with shifting global trade flows.

The change underscores how the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is becoming an increasingly important market for Chinese manufacturers facing higher tariffs and other trade barriers in the U.S. and Europe.
