Two Top Generals Expelled From Communist Party in Corruption Probe

China’s Communist Party has expelled two of the country’s most senior military officials and referred their cases to military prosecutors, accusing them of corruption, political disloyalty and abuse of power.

Zhang Youxia, a member of the Communist Party’s Politburo and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and Liu Zhenli, a Central Military Commission member and former chief of staff of its Joint Staff Department, were placed under formal investigation with approval from the party’s Central Committee and the commission, according to the state-run Xinhua News Agency.
