Citic Securities Co. Ltd. has appointed Zou Yingguang as its Communist Party chief, setting the stage for him to succeed veteran chairman Zhang Youjun at the helm of China’s largest brokerage by assets.
Zou, who currently serves as the firm’s president and deputy Party chief, was named Party secretary in an internal circular on Tuesday, according to people familiar with the matter. In state-linked Chinese financial institutions, the top Party post is typically paired with the board chairmanship, a role Zou is expected to assume once standard corporate and regulatory procedures are completed.
