China has named new Communist Party chiefs for the provinces of Anhui, Henan and Fujian, continuing a broader regional leadership reshuffle ahead of local party congresses scheduled for later this year.

The appointments, announced on Sept. 23, underscore Beijing’s strategy of rotating experienced technocrats, academics and central government ministers into key regional posts to steer economic development and enforce administrative discipline.
