Qualcomm China Chief Sees Country Well Placed for AI Device Race

(Hawaii) — China is better prepared for the artificial-intelligence revolution than it was for previous waves of technological change, Qualcomm Inc.’s China chairman said, as AI spreads from smartphones into cars, glasses and other devices.

“I went through the IT revolution and the internet revolution. This AI technology revolution is the one China’s industry is best prepared for,” Frank Meng, chairman of Qualcomm China, said in an interview with media during the company’s Snapdragon Summit on Thursday.
