Hong Kong Takes Nearly Two-Thirds of Chinese Mainland’s Outbound Investment

The Chinese mainland’s outward direct investment (ODI) topped $200 billion for the first time last year, with nearly two-thirds going to Hong Kong, underscoring the city’s role in routing Chinese capital overseas.
ODI rose 11.1% year-on-year to $213.6 billion, making the mainland the world’s second-largest source of ODI, according to a government report released last week.
