Singapore Minister Warns Past Weather Data Is No Guide to the Climate’s Future

SINGAPORE — Governments and businesses can no longer rely on historical weather data to plan for climate change, Singapore’s sustainability minister said Wednesday at the Asia New Vision Forum Innovation Summit.

“Don’t use past patterns to infer the future of climate change — that doesn’t work,” said Grace Fu, minister for sustainability and the environment and minister-in-charge of trade relations. “Future weather will not repeat the past.”
