Citi Warns China Growth Could Slip Closer to 4% in 2027

China will have an uphill battle to just maintain a 4% growth rate next year as slowing exports, weak consumer confidence and a protracted property slump drag on the economy, Citigroup Inc. forecast.

The projection underscores the growing pressure on policymakers to deploy large-scale stimulus, potentially echoing the sweeping measures introduced in September 2024 to keep the country on track for its long-term development goals.
