The U.S. International Trade Commission has opened an investigation into power delivery systems used in high-performance computing, targeting suppliers including Delta Electronics, Luxshare and Foxconn over allegations that their products infringe a U.S. patent.

The probe, announced on Friday, covers vertical power delivery systems, their components and computer systems containing them. Such systems deliver electricity to high-performance chips, including CPUs, GPUs and custom processors, where rising power demands must be managed in tight spaces and under thermal and voltage constraints.
