ICBC’s Guangdong Chief Returns to Headquarters, With Promotion Expected

Han Song, head of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd.’s (ICBC) Guangdong provincial branch, has moved to the lender’s Beijing headquarters and is expected to be promoted to senior business director, sources familiar with the matter told Caixin.

The expected promotion comes as ICBC, the world’s largest commercial bank by assets, seeks to fill gaps in its senior management ranks. A series of retirements has left just one executive holding the senior business director title, a position created to help address leadership shortages.
