A group of workers at Micron Technology Inc.’s Taoyuan plant in Taiwan began a 24-hour strike Thursday, pressing the memory-chip maker to establish a formal profit-sharing system after an AI-driven boom lifted its earnings to record levels.
The warning strike began at 9 a.m. outside the factory and was carried out by 11 union officials, and production lines weren’t directly halted. The union represents roughly 2,335 workers, or about 70% of the Taoyuan plant’s workforce.
