The European Union will introduce a 2-euro ($2.2) processing fee on cross-border e-commerce imports from outside the bloc on Nov. 1, 2026, adding to a tariff imposed earlier this year ahead of the holiday shopping season.

The charge is the latest step in the EU’s effort to curb an influx of low-value parcels, primarily from China, that officials say puts local businesses at a disadvantage and harms the environment.
