Listen to the full version

Great Wall Motor Co. Ltd. plans to begin assembling vehicles at an existing plant in Bulgaria in the first quarter of 2027, renewing its effort to establish production in Europe after earlier setbacks.
The relatively low-cost project reflects a broader push by Chinese automakers to produce vehicles inside the European Union to avoid tariffs and other trade restrictions. For Great Wall Motor, it also offers a way to test local production as the company seeks to revive weak sales in the region.
