Listen to the full version

Chinese on-demand service giant Meituan has launched a new AI model trained entirely on homegrown chips, with plans to use it to improve efficiency across its core businesses.
Unveiled on Monday, LongCat-2.5 is a native multimodal model trained with 1.6 trillion parameters, designed to handle long-range agent tasks, the company said.
Meituan’s move highlights Chinese tech companies’ growing reliance on homegrown chips to advance their AI capabilities despite hardware limitations, as well as their strategic focus on monetizing AI through existing business ecosystems rather than selling raw computing power.
