Listen to the full version

Chinese green tech company Envision Group has delivered the first 200-megawatt phase of an AI data center in northern China, part of its broader push to power energy-hungry computing facilities with renewable energy transmitted directly from nearby wind and solar farms.
The first phase of the Galaxy Campus project in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia was handed over to a Chinese internet giant in late October, Zheng Zihao, general manager of Envision’s AI data center business, told Caixin during a recent interview. A second 200-megawatt phase is expected to begin operating in the second quarter of 2027.
