Coach owner Tapestry Inc. reported 39% sales growth in Greater China in its latest quarter, bucking weakness in the Chinese luxury market as it focused on younger consumers.

The company aims to attract first-time luxury buyers rather than simply take market share, said Kylene Campos, Tapestry’s senior vice president of brand and growth strategy for Asia-Pacific. Speaking to Caixin at the ninth China International Import Expo on Friday, she attributed the performance to a stronger focus on young shoppers.
