The Long and The Short

With the difficulties of 2009 largely behind us, opinions widely vary on the outlook for China's economy in 2010. Of course, there is always uncertainty when forecasting economic trends, and the biggest variable is policy, which can have enormous impact on the economy.

The essential, as well as the most challenging, task facing China's economy right now is how to shift from short-term measures aimed at stimulating the economy to policies that will promote long-term growth.
