Qin Xiao, China's Intellectual Banker

A recent commencement speech glowing with ideological enlightenment – and touching on freedom, reason as well as individual liberties – stunned graduates at Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management.

Many in the audience expected a speech with a corporate management message, not a philosophical tome, when the soon-to-retire banker and business reformer Qin Xiao stepped to the podium and began his speech.
