Income Tax Increases to Have Limited Effect

(Beijing) -- After two years of discussion, the State Council, China's cabinet, proposed an initiative to the country's legislature to raise the threshold of the personal income tax levy from 2,000 yuan to 3,000 yuan. The legislators will deliberate the issue in the meeting between April 20 to 22 and it is widely believed the proposal will win approval.
