Shenyang Official Embroiled in Food Safety Scandal

On June 9, an online posting spread across various forums and microblogs, exposing a row between Shenyang Prefecture Shenhe District Industry and Commerce Department Head Yang Xiaosong and the Liao Shen Evening News. The row occurred because of a report in the newspaper on June 8 which revealed the store had been selling moldy rice dumplings through a Bread Talk franchise run by members of Yang's family.
