Guangzhou to Shenzhen High-Speed Rail Opens

(Beijing) – The Guangzhou to Shenzhen high-speed rail officially opened December 26. Safety issues raised during the trial period of the rail line were resolved before the official launch, according to the route developer.

A safety inspection by the China Academy of Railway Sciences discovered 57 faults with the train system in mid-August. The rail line also has the same signaling technology which caused the July 23 train crash.
