Senior Executive at China Mobile Put Under Investigation

(Beijing) – The president of China Mobile has been put under investigation by Jilin provincial authorities on allegations of wrongdoing. Caixin learned from multiple sources Wu Weining, president of China Mobile’s Handset Division, was detained in November 2011.

Prior to his position as president of China Mobile's terminal division, Wu began his career at China Mobile as a director of fee collection. Following this, he transferred to Guangxi Mobile as president. China Mobile's Handset Division is registered as an independent company that is controlled by China Mobile.
