(Beijing) – China's retail industry will not be matching the hopes of investors any time soon, according to a new study released by UBS on January 10.
Liang Yuchang, retail analyst at UBS, said that only looking at the huge number of Chinese consumers may mislead investors.
Liang said that of the 10 retail sectors reviewed in the UBS report, shopping malls and the sports apparel sector will continue to experience anemic growth. Meanwhile, automobile retailers, cosmetics and spa product retailers will see brighter prospects in 2012.
