Land Use for Infrastructure Rises Rapidly

Infrastructure construction has replaced real estate development as the major consumer of land plots during the first three months of 2012, the latest official data shows.
The Ministry of Land and Resources said that in the first quarter the overall land supply for construction increased 33.6 percent from the same period last year to a total of 114,400 hectares. Of that area, 45.2 percent was used for infrastructure, an increase of 160 percent from the same period a year earlier.
