Nestlé Boss Said Food in China Safe

(Beijing) – Despite the string of recent scandals in the domestic food industry, Nestlé Chairman for Greater China Roland Decorvet says he believes the state of food safety is improving.

"I really believe that most of the food in China is safe," Decorvet said in an interview with Caixin on July 10 during an economic summit. The scandals are "not representative of the state of the industry as a whole," but merely a small number of individuals acting upon the "temptation to make a quick buck.
