The Integral Role of Integrity

Shanshan Guild Hall, in the city of Liaocheng, Shandong Province, was built during the Ming Dynasty by merchants from the provinces of Shanxi and Shaanxi. It was a place of business and entertainment, but also of worship. The main hall is dedicated to the part-historical figure, part-deity Guan Yu and has led to the guild hall being known as the Temple of Guan among locals.
