State Council Approves Plan for Income Distribution
(Beijing) -- The State Council, China's cabinet, has approved a reform guideline on income distribution as the latest step toward tackling the nation's widening wealth gap.
The guideline, approved on February 5, targets increasing minimum wages to at least 40 percent of average salaries by 2015, from the current level of around 30 percent in many provinces. It also committed to improvement of wage and labor contract regulations.
