Problems Listed in Audit Reports Were Seen Before
The National Audit Office released audit reports for 13 centrally administered state-owned enterprises (SOEs) for the 2011 fiscal year on May 10.
The reports revealed suspected irregularities in the operations of several companies, including China Mobile, China National Nuclear Corp. and China Huaneng.
The audit office pointed out that some SOEs had illegally spent several hundreds of millions of yuan on material benefits for their employees. The list included China Publishing Group, State Nuclear Power and Huaneng Group, especially their subsidiaries. The benefits included buying insurance, giving out gift cards and constructing residential buildings.
