Meager meals of bok choy on rice, or sometimes simply potatoes, used to be the daily lunch fare for Suo Peishi, a fourth-grader at a village school in rural Yunnan Province.
But young Peishi now enjoys satisfying – and far more nutritious – school lunches thanks to a government-funded meals program that's being tested for possible application nationwide.
