Closer Look: China-Japan Diplomatic Activity Heats Up after LDP’s Election Victory

High-level Japanese officials are gearing up for a quick restart of Sino-Japanese dialogue following the consolidation of power of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its coalition partner in recent elections.

The two countries have been at an impasse since September 2012 when Japan announced it was nationalizing the islands it refers to as the Senkakus and China calls the Diaoyus.
