More Officials Feel the Sting of Anti-Corruption Winds

(Beijing) – Several officials have been detained in recent days – including an official in the petitions office, a deputy provincial governor and a university recruitment officer – an indication that anti-corruption winds that started blowing when the new leadership took over last fall are still lashing the halls of power.
The Communist Party's Central Discipline Inspection Commission (CDIC) announced on its website on November 27 that Guo Youming, deputy governor of the central province of Hubei, is being investigated. Guo becomes the 12th official of the rank of deputy minister or higher to be blown over since fall 2012.
