A China Hand Loses Touch

(Beijing) – Clive Palmer considers himself an old China hand.

The wealthy Australian real estate mogul and parliamentarian-elect says his deep understanding of all things Chinese dates to 1962, when he visited China with his father and apparently sat on Mao Zedong's lap.

According to the story, which some have questioned, Mao propped the young Palmer on his thigh and called him "little capitalist."
