(Beijing) – The coal rich northern province of Shanxi has become a focal point of the Communist Party's corruption crackdown. Since the beginning of the year, seven vice-provincial-level officials in Shanxi have come under investigation for corruption.

The investigations by the Central Discipline Inspection Commission (CDIC) have uncovered a complicated network of graft and deep-rooted interests between government officials and businesses in the province. The graphic outlines the major corruption cases in Shanxi.
